DJ Twitty

Real name Philani Khuzwayo born in Pietermarizburg 1984 and grew up at Sobantu township before moving to Durban Umlazi township DJ Twitty has always wanted to be in the music industry. He finished his metric in 2002 and then worked as an HIV Aids councilor. In 2003 he enrolled at Durbans Finest DJ academy situated at Chilli Soul 320 West Street. After completing he took to the streets of Durban and surrounding township playing wherever he got an opportunity to make masses dance. 

In 2006 Vusi Leeuw of H.U.G.E Entertainment the record company that released DJ Bongs spotted DJ Twitty and gave him a record deal. He then released his first album called Twisted, which had a smashing hit “Buyisa Uthando Lwami”. The album did ok for the first release and then in 2008 he released his second album “Sweet December”. The album featured the song “After Today” which is still on high rotation in radio stations like Gagasi FM and Ukhozi FM.
 
After he saw his worked wasn’t given the attention it deserved DJ Twitty approached Afrotainment to be part of the Durbans most successful record company. His album DJ Twitty Vol3 The Afrology is ready to take South African music to new heights. Packed with 10 locally produced songs and four international hits its sure winner no doubt. The album feature production by DJ Tira, DJ Fisherman, Big Nuz and new singing sensation Joocy, same guy who sang on “Won’t let u go” from Ezase Afro vol 1. The album also has international icons like Julien Jabre, Lovebirds, Marc Evans and DJ Roland Clarke.
